WILDER
Born and raised in Anchorage, Nathaniel is a photographer whose work explores the relationships between people, animals and wilderness, especially in the remote, northern expanses of Alaska. Increasingly, his stories also involve the dynamics of a changing climate.
Nathaniel has more than 15 years experience working throughout Alaska, and is well-sourced and well-versed in the logistics of rural and backcountry travel and reporting. His editorial images have appeared in the New York Times, Smithsonian Magazine, National Geographic Proof, Outside Magazine, Oprah Magazine, Grist, Runner's World Magazine, the Washington Post and Patagonia's Cleanest Line Blog, among other publications.
His commercial clients include Merrell, GCI and Google. He has photographed the west-coast portion of Google’s Economic Impact Report since 2018.
Nathaniel lives in Anchorage with his wife and two children. When not at home or in the field, he can be found building a cabin with his dad at the edge of Wrangell St. Elias National Park.
