Ivan River Fish Camp
Across the muddy Cook Inlet from Alaska's largest city, on the banks of the Ivan River, a small group of commercial fisherman slog through knee deep glacial mud, setting nets to harvest three species of wild Alaska salmon.
The Su Salmon Co fisherfolk live and work four weeks out of the year at Ivan River fish camp, sending fresh fish by bush plane the 27 miles back across the water to sell in Anchorage.
